Here it is, as promised: my very own Peace Corps blog! If I were capable and if I knew anyone could actually read and comprehend it, it’d be written in Turkmen, Türkmençe that is (I don’t even know if that has the correct suffix), the country’s official language. If you’re lucky you’ll get some choice phrases at a later date.  Let’s hope you’re lucky.

I wanted to get this set up and the link distributed before I go. I don’t know what kind of internet access I will have when I am there–that will determine when and if I am able to post things. But here’s to hoping for frequent photos, thoughts and narratives right here on this very page!

I leave on September the 29th, for one day of “staging” in D.C., then it is on to Aşgabat (which–according to wikipedia–is Persian for ‘city of love’) for three months of training. Then on to my permanent assignment–in a small village, perhaps, where I am hoping for prevalent goats. But in the meantime I’ve got paperwork and shopping and packing and thinking and studying to do.

I hope you are finding the peace, that comes from self sacrifice. You are the coolest person I know! Love you.

Loneliness will only last as long as you do not find another life to dump your own into. Jesus had quite a few things right.

I love you and I am more proud than you can ever know.
    oh and I’m crying… :)
